The Glitch Fashion Show 2022

A week ago, I was the official photographer for this first-time underground fashion show. Myrai Lavoie and Sarah Fefer presided the whole night and they showcase some of the best alternative fashion designers in Montreal. Three words to describe that night: Weird, Odd, and Sexy. In my coverage, you’ll see some behind the scene, unique images that have not been shared on social media, and the designer’s runways.

Event Coverage

Guillaume Chaigne

His work can be described in three words :

Intimacy: There is a theme and an ideology behind all my work. Everything is so intimate and personal. I do this primarily for myself, but I also do it for sharing.

Oversized: Shows style well. The guidelines are very big, very loose, very androgynous, and genderless, typical of current streetwear. Everything that revolves around this category fits very well.

Naive: He doesn't like to conform to existing guidelines. Yes, he gets a lot of his inspiration from his favorite designers, but he also has a lot of inspiration around him - not just from people, but from everything around him.

Here’s his new collection for FW2022.

EPHE

www.epheofficial.com

EPHE is an upcycling brand that handmade unique pieces worked from recycled materials. Everything is arranged, painted, embroidered, sewn, or artistically modified in any way by the artist's vision. Sarah White founded the brand in 2020. Her art is very well known in the Montreal punk community and she styles her clients for what they mainly need.

Glammy Lee

Glammy Lee has a very unique eye. He uses it to see things into being. Working alongside Glammy is a bit like stepping through a looking glass; on the other side of the glass, anything is possible. Glammy's created world isintriguing, sexy, campy, colourful, and a little bit dangerous. It's a world made by his own hands, because hardwork is the true companion of queer magic. In Glammy's hands, everyday objects become fashion and high art: crown jewels from an expert magpie. In Glammy's world, hair is a medium, clothes are a medium, skin is a medium - and everything is enticing.

House of Lord Swag

www.lordswag.com

Lord Swag celebrates authentic personal style and challenges brand conformity by reworking thrift vintage into one-off pieces. The brand was founded by Montreal artists Baba Lye and Theran Seaton. There is a scholar of textile art and print. Her poetic approach to life manifests in her unapologetic color combinations and themes of natural beauty. Baba cut her teeth on design at a young age. With nearly a lifetime of experience behind her craft, Lye’s approach to apparel design is rooted in resourcefulness and individuality. The mix of both worlds made the brands what it is today.
